Wheel of awareness
This poster has a wheel of awareness developed by Daniel Siegel and Tina Brysol. According to them, it is a useful tool for teachers to use in their classroom because it teaches kids that they have choices about what they focus on and where they place their attention. It also gives them a tool that lets them integrate the different parts of themselves, so they are not held hostage, by one negative constellation of feelings or thoughts clamoring for their attention. You can place the wheel of awareness in your classroom and use it especially with kids that are not controlling emotions or they seem stuck on one spoke the wheel.
